A fatal shooting May 10 in south Nashville is under investigation by the Nashville District Attorney’s office into whether the shooter acted out of self-defense.
The victim, a 48-year-old man whom Metro Nashville Police Department did not identify in a news release, reportedly knocked on another man’s door at 1:50 a.m. The resident, 60-year-old James Green, asked the man knocking on his door to leave, a request the man ignored.
According to the release, Green and the other man got into a fight, and Green ultimately shot him. Green told detectives he saw the man reach for an object in his waistband.
