These First State chefs might move with robotic accuracy, cranking out meals for a small army of customers. But their secret ingredient is something no algorithm can copy: heart. (Not yet, at least.)
With a new lineup of chef challengers rolling into Round 7, there are now only 17 wheel warriors left to clash it out in the Food Truck Frenzy.
Voting for Round 7 of the contest runs from Aug. 26 to Aug. 31. Readers hold the power to determine which cooking machines they’ll unplug.
How does the Delaware Food Truck Frenzy work?
Each week, five food trucks are cruising to deliver a friendly bruising in this spirited tournament where only one drives away victorious, based solely on reader votes.
Once the Prime 9 food trucks are voted into position, the finale begins, and readers will crown the one truck they believe is Delaware’s most glorious.

These hunger games began July 15, and readers can now vote for their favorite food truck each week, Tuesdays through Sundays, until one winner is chosen.
Here’s a recap of who survived Round 6, the new curbside chariots that will battle in Round 7, and other important info to munch on.
Who won & lost in Round 6 of Delaware Food Truck Frenzy?
For the first time in this competition, we had a tie in Round 6 between Upscale Crab & Seafood and Bivouac Pizza. The tie means both food trucks have advanced as Round 6 co-winners and are now finalists for the new “Prime 9,” formerly known as the Elite 8. Other food trucks that have made it to the Prime 9 are Uncle Johns BBQ Stand, Sherylz Food Truck, Grandpa Mac, Delaware Provision Company and The Plum Pit Food Truck.
The trucks that got chopped in Round 6 are Tavola’s Thin Crust Pizza , Aunt Mary’s Kitchen and The Thai Tee.
Which Delaware chefs will fight in Round 6 of Food Truck Frenzy?
The Taco Reho food truck rolls into Round 7 of the Delaware Food Truck Frenzy contest. Voting for Round 7 is Aug. 26 to Aug. 31.
Taco Reho is the answer when Taco Tuesday isn’t enough for you. The business has a restaurant in Rehoboth, along with a food truck that roams around. Taco Reho has taco options like pork, carnitas, baja fish, chicken, beef and avocado. They sell hotdogs, too. There’s the Plain Dog and the epic “Danger Dog,” a hot dog that’s wrapped in bacon and features Monterey jack cheese, avocado, yellow mustard, chipotle mayo, pico and pickled red onions.
Vern’s Fish Fry is a love letter written in cursive to seafood fans. The menu offers fish sandwiches (including catfish), crab cakes, shrimp fries and salmon. There’s also non-seafood like baked chicken, wings, hot dogs and burgers. Dessert items include pineapple upside down cake, peach cobbler, carrot cake, bread and banana pudding.

Bitty’s Bagels is a gourmet bagel truck literally rolling in the dough. There are varieties from The Pretzel Salad Bagel (strawberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese, topped with strawberry Jell-o, crushed pretzels and whipped cream) to “The Delaware Bae” (Old Bay bagel, topped with creamy, cheesy, warm lump crab and cilantro).
Masala Kitchen is all about vegetarian food. The vegetarian kitchen whips up interesting options including naan pizza (Maggi sauce and Amul cheese), Tofu Tikka Pizza (naan topped with Maggi sauce, Amul cheese and tofu tikka) and Paneer Tikka Pizza (naan topped with Maggi sauce, Amul cheese and paneer tikka). There also are skewers and wraps with tofu options, plus sandwiches, and more.
Cup’r Cone knows kids have chased ice cream trucks for generations. Now adults are going after Cup’r Cone in Delaware, a business with two store fronts and a food truck. Cup’r Cone whips up hand-dipped ice cream available in 16 flavors daily, with around 50 flavors rotated throughout the season, according to their website. Flavors include Thicc Monkey (banana ice cream with peanut butter sauce), Believe It’s Bacon! (butter pecan-base flavor with bacon pieces) and Zombie (chocolate peanut butter ice cream with cookie dough and chocolate scooter crunch). Treats are served in cups, cones or homemade waffle cones, or as shakes, sundaes and many other options.
