Deputies are searching for an Edgewater man who posed as a licensed roofer and took $21,000 from a Port Orange resident without doing any work, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said.
Andrew Ingram, 43, of Busy Bee Roofing in Edgewater, is wanted for fraud and theft, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.
After accepting the $21,000 in November, Ingram never applied for a permit, delivered material, or showed up on any of his promised start dates, sheriff’s deputies said.
After hearing several excuses, the victim demanded a refund and never heard from Ingram again, the sheriff’s office said.
A warrant has been issued for Ingram’s arrest. The sheriff’s office is asking any possible victims or anyone with information on Ingram’s whereabouts to contact the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit at 386-254-1537.
