GOSHEN — A North Carolina man convicted in a double homicide has been given more than 140 years in prison.

Christain Wall, 23, of Ellerbe, received consecutive 62-year prison terms after he was convicted of killing two men in December 2023. He was found guilty of fatally shooting Michael Pike and Jalen Young outside Galley Sports Pub on Dec. 14, 2023.

He also received two 10-year sentence enhancements for the use of a firearm in the crimes. Wall was convicted on June 5 on the fourth day of a jury trial and was sentenced last week in Elkhart Circuit Court.

Ahead of sentencing the court received numerous character letters not only on behalf of Pike and Young but also on behalf of Wall, sent by friends and family in North Carolina.

He received around 18 months of good time credit for time spent in jail since his arrest. He indicated at sentencing that he plans to appeal.

Police who responded to the shooting found Pike dead in the parking lot of the bar, while Young died after being transported to the hospital. Bystanders identified Wall as the shooter and police found him in a parked car nearby.

Witnesses described a fight in the parking lot involving Wall and they described him shooting both men in the head. Police said surveillance video showed Wall shooting both men then getting into the front seat of his vehicle.

A Glock 9mm handgun was found in the vehicle and two spent 9mm shell casings were recovered from the parking lot, according to police.

Wall claimed after his arrest that he didn’t remember fighting with or shooting anyone, investigators said.
