Driver faces vehicular homicide charge after woman killed in two-car crash on Bell Road

A driver is facing a vehicular homicide charge after an early morning crash killed a woman in another car.

Raquel Lorena Sarabia Barajas, 37, suffered fatal injuries Aug. 10 just before 3:30 a.m. when a Maserati SQ4, traveling west on Bell Road, crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Nissan Rogue head on near the Harris Hills Lane intersection, Metro Nashville Police said in a news release.

Barajas was a passenger in the Nissan. She died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the Maserati, Julio Ceasar Herrera Gonzalez, 36, suffered minor injuries. He showed signs of impairment at the hospital, police said.

Police filed warrants against Gonzalez on charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, driving under the influence and driving without a license.
