A false report about teenagers with a weapon caused a large El Paso law enforcement mobilization at Bassett Place, a police spokesman said.

The mobilization occurred about 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, when police responded to reports of two juveniles with a weapon at the shopping mall in Central El Paso, Officer Adrian Cisneros, a police spokesman, said in a message. No injuries were reported.

A boy and girl, both 14 years old, matching the description in the call were taken into custody on charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest and false alarm or report, Cisneros said.
The teens were turned over to the Juvenile Probation Department. Their names were not disclosed because they are juveniles. Further details on the incident were not immediately available.
