An Erie County man has been charged with multiple sexual crimes for allegedly forcing a woman in Springboro to have sex with him Friday, beating her and threatening to beat her more if she didn’t comply.

Dylan A. Bera, 26, of Walnut Street, Albion, is being held in the Crawford County Correctional Facility, Saegertown, in lieu of $50,000 on multiple counts filed by Pennsylvania State Police.

The woman was at a female friend’s apartment in Springboro when Bera arrived, took the woman out of the apartment and dragged her to his vehicle, according to the arrest affidavit filed in the case.

Bera then tied the woman’s wrists together, repeatedly hitting her and telling her that he “would keep beating her if she kept acting afraid,” the affidavit said.

Bera also told the woman that if she didn’t perform a sexual act on him, “he would take her to a field and let other males (sexually assault) her,” the affidavit continued.

The woman began to comply but then started to breath heavily and told Bera that she needed to go to a hospital, the affidavit said. Bera reportedly drove her to the hospital and dropped her off.

State police interviewed the woman Friday night at Meadville Medical Center.

Bera was arrested Saturday night by state police on felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse threat forcible compulsion and sexual assault; misdemeanor counts of indecent assault threat forcible compulsion, simple assault and unlawful restraint; and summary counts of driving without a license and driving while license is suspended.

He was arraigned Sunday before Magisterial District Judge Lincoln Zilhaver and placed in jail in Saegertown in lieu of bond.

Bera faces a preliminary hearing on the charges May 2 before Magisterial District Judge Adam Stallard.
