Erie police accuse a city woman of intentionally setting fire to a Wallace Street residence Sept. 10, endangering others inside at the time.
Dashinara A. Dorsey, 18, faces charges including felony counts of arson, aggravated arson, endangering the welfare of children and risking a catastrophe in a fire reported Sept. 10 at about 2:45 p.m. that damaged a two-story house at 2111 Wallace St.
The fire started in the attic of the home and caused heavy damage to the top floor. Other portions of the house received water damage, according to the Erie Bureau of Fire.
All of the people who were in the house at the time escaped injury, as did pets that were in the house, a fire official reported Sept. 12.
According to information in the criminal complaint that Erie police filed against Dorsey, others in the house or connected to it told investigators Dorsey had threatened to set the house on fire after getting into an argument with another person over money. The fire was reportedly discovered minutes after one person in the house at the time told police Dorsey said she was about to burn the house down, according to information in the complaint’s affidavit of probable cause.
