Sep. 26—The town of Eva has been awarded a $300,000 Rebuild Alabama grant, Gov. Kay Ivey announced Friday, one of 13 statewide grants totaling $3.7 million.
The grant to Eva is for resurfacing and pavement repairs on a half mile of Sanders Road from Jesse Green Road to the Cullman County line.
Eva is paying a $50,000 match for the project. Construction must begin within a year of the award being made.
Since the 2019 passage of the Rebuild Alabama Act, which raised gas taxes, the Alabama Department of Transportation’s annual grant program has awarded more than $70 million in state transportation funding for local projects, according to ALDOT. More than 500 road and bridge projects across all 67 counties have been made possible by Rebuild Alabama, it said.
