Expect Montgomery trash pickup to arrive earlier this summer

Must read

The city of Montgomery is moving trash collection earlier in the day to keep sanitation workers safe and help combat the heat.

Starting June 30, garbage collection will be from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to a news release. The city will keep this schedule through Aug. 29. City leaders are asking residents to make sure their trash is ready for pickup by 6 a.m.

“We’re asking for the community’s help to beat the heat,” said Patrick Dunson, the director of public works, in a statement. “By setting cans out earlier, residents can play a part in protecting the essential workers who keep our city clean and safe.”
