Louisville Metro Police is searching for a former officer recently indicted on multiple charges, including several felonies, after he allegedly tampered with records, stalked a woman and engaged in other misconduct, officials said.
A grand jury indicted Roberto Cedeno, who joined the department in 2020, on nine separate counts April 16, according to court records.
According to a copy of the indictment, Cedeno is charged with felony unlawful access to a computer, stalking, tampering with public records and false reporting of an incident and misdemeanor violation of a protective order, misapplication of entrusted property, first-degree official misconduct, harassing communications and harassment with no physical contact.
LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said the department’s Public Integrity Unit launched an investigation into Cedano March 12 after the department received a complaint about “concerning behavior.” Chief Paul Humphrey began the process of terminating Cedeno’s employment, but he resigned prior to the completion of the termination process April 8.
Per Louisville Metro’s salary database, Cedeno has been paid $23,516 by the city in 2025 on an annual rate of $76,419.20.
“It is my duty to this community to take immediate action when the behavior of any LMPD employee is called into question, especially when that behavior is criminal,” Humphrey said. “I hold every officer in this department to high standards and will not tolerate anything less than exemplary and lawful conduct.”
Cedeno was first arrested April 11 on a violation of an interpersonal protective order. The Public Integrity Unit then turned over evidence to the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, where they presented the case to a grand jury. Louisville Metro Department of Corrections records indicate he was released from custody April 12.

Sanders said an arrest warrant has been issued as a result of the new indictment. Anyone with information on Cedeno’s location is encouraged to contact 911 or LMPD’s anonymous tip line at 502-574-5673.
Cedeno also fatally shot a suspect in the Clifton neighborhood in 2023. In an Aug. 17, 2023 news conference, then-deputy chief Humphrey said Cedeno was hired by LMPD in September 2020 and sworn in in April 2021. He described Cedeno as a “late watch” officer with LMPD’s Fourth Division, and said he had no record of discipline at the time.
Attorney Steve Schroering, who is listed in court records as representing Cedeno for the protective order violation charge, declined requests for comment.
