Freetown woman killed in single-car crash in Dartmouth this weekend. What we know.

DARTMOUTH — A Freetown woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 195 in Dartmouth on Saturday, Aug. 23.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police received multiple 911 calls and responded to the scene at 3 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered a red 2013 Chevrolet Cruze stuck in a tree with severe damage to the right side of the breakdown lane at mile marker 21 on I-195 East in Dartmouth.

In the driver’s seat, police located 36-year-old Crystal Mullens of East Freetown with significant injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later, the DA’s office states.

An adult male passenger who was also at the scene was uninjured.

The accident is currently under investigation by both the Massachusetts State Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
