Funeral arrangements have been released for longtime Jefferson County Sheriff John Aubrey, who died Sept. 23 while serving his final term. He was 86.
JCSO Lt. Col. Carl Yates confirmed Aubrey’s visitation will take place Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Southeast Christian Church, located at 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy. Aubrey’s funeral service will take place at the same location Oct. 2, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
He will be buried at Saint Michael Cemetery, located at 1300 Ellison Ave.

“We are expecting a number of people from out of town because he touched so many lives and different venues,” Yates said.
Attendees from the National Sheriffs’ Association and the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association are among those expected.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will close at noon Oct. 1 and will be closed all day Oct. 2, Yates said.
