Georgetown man dies more than a week after crash where SUV flipped, police say

A 29-year-old man from Georgetown has died more than a week after his SUV crashed into two trees.

Marco Lobos-Simaj died from injuries sustained in the single-vehicle crash on Hardscrabble Road near Georgetown, Delaware State Police said.

Around 7 p.m. on Aug. 19, Lobos-Simaj was driving a Honda Pilot eastbound on Hardscrabble Road, east of Tyndall Road, when his SUV went into a ditch and hit a tree, causing the SUV to overturn many times before hitting another tree, police said.

He went to the hospital with critical injuries. On Aug. 27, he died.

Delaware State Police are investigating the crash and encourage anyone with relevant information to reach out to them or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
