Hartselle teenager charged with armed robbery

Sep. 11—A Hartselle teenager was charged with first-degree robbery on Wednesday after allegedly holding a victim at gunpoint and stealing cash from their vehicle last month, according to the Hartselle Police Department.

Keilyn Alex Speegle, 18, was transported to Morgan County Jail and held in lieu of a $30,000 bond.

On Aug. 26, police said, they responded to an armed robbery call at a parking lot located at 240 U.S. 31 N.W. in Hartselle.

“Speegle entered the victim’s vehicle and brandished a handgun while demanding money,” police said. “The suspect held the victim at gunpoint and removed cash from the vehicle before fleeing the scene.”

A Hartselle police investigator identified Speegle as the suspect and a warrant was eventually obtained for his arrest.
