Nolan and Stephanie Hartzler, Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society scholarship winner MacKenzie Hartzler, and the Delta Kappa Gamma Alpha Theta scholarship chair Jane Slater were on hand to present MacKenzie with the $1,000 scholarship.
The Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International announces this year’s scholarship winner is MacKenzie Hartzler, daughter of Nolan and Stephanie of Smithville.
MacKenzie Hartzler will attend Ashland Universitywhere she will major in early childhood education.
She also will be a cheerleader for both the Eagles’ football and basketball teams.
She will receive a $1,000 scholarship this fall to further her education as a future teacher.
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.
To honor women who have evidence and potential for a distinctive service in the field of teaching the Wayne County Alpha Theta chapter donates a $1,000 scholarship annually.
The local chapter was established in 1938 and provides scholarships, support, inspiration and professional enrichment to women educators and young women aspiring to go into education.
