Spring show by Cambridge Singers
CAMBRIDGE − The Cambridge Singers upcoming spring show, We’ve Got Style, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. May 2-3, and 3 p.m. May 4, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium. Tickets purchased in advance at $10 and those purchased at the door at $12. For those age 12 and under admission is $5.
McLain Family performing Friday
FAIRVIEW − The McLain Family Band will headline this week’s bluegrass show April 11, at the Penneyroyal Opera House.
Since 1968, the McLain Family Band has performed in 64 countries and all 50 states. They have appeared at Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Center, and the Grand Ole Opry. The band is a member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and recipient of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Distinguished Achievement Award.
The opening band will be the Morehead State Ambassadors.
The doors and kitchen open at 5 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for those age 13 and up.
Deadline is May 2 for farm bureau’s annual dinner
BYESVILLE − Guernsey County Farm Bureau will hold its annual pork chop dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. May 9, at Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 60770 Southgate Road in Byesville. Reservations are to be made by May 2 by calling 740-425-3681 or emailing guernsey@ofbf.org. The menu includes grilled pork chops, parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce, rolls, beverage and ice cream for $15 to Farm Bureau members, $18 to non-members, and $8 for children under 8.
A silent auction will be held with proceeds going to the scholarship fund.
Traffic patterns impacted for 60 days
CAMBRIDGE − TGS Seismic will perform seismographic works along various county road for 60 days. The project started April 1. The company will use vibratory trucks and a helicopter during the work.
