A 15-year-old boy riding a bike was hospitalized after a driver crashed into him in South Los Angeles before fleeing the scene.
On April 7, footage from surveillance cameras shows Sebastian Carillo riding home from school on the 2100 block of Nadeau Street at around 3:30 p.m.
As he rode on the sidewalk, the driver of a BMW sedan suddenly veered right and crashed directly into the boy’s bicycle.

The impact knocked the boy off his bike and onto the BMW’s hood before he hit the ground. The driver pulled forward a few feet and stopped for a moment before speeding away.
A bystander is seen rushing over to help Sebastian while two other witnesses run toward the street to capture photos and footage of the fleeing car.
He was transported to the hospital for injury treatment and received eight stitches in his mouth. He is also having trouble communicating.
“He remembers coming from school and just seeing the car going towards him,” Eric Carillo, the boy’s father, told KTLA’s Carlos Saucedo.
Although the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Eric believes his son may have been targeted without provocation.
California Highway Patrol officers in South L.A. are investigating the case and said they have not ruled out the possibility of the hit-and-run being intentional.
As Sebastian continues recovering, his father said it’s heartbreaking to see his son suffering.
“It’s frustrating seeing my son at home, not wanting to go outside, just in pain,” Eric said. “I just want justice for my son. He doesn’t even want to go to school anymore. It’s sad. I don’t know what kind of driver is out there hitting people on bikes.”
Officers said the suspect was driving a black, four-door 2025 BMW sedan. CHP investigators are asking anyone with information on the case to call 424-551-4000.
