Hot and humid day on tap for Central Florida

Must read

Hot and humid conditions are forecast for Central Florida in the next few days with highs in the low to mid 90s, but heat index, or “feels like” temperatures climbing from 100-105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Storm coverage for the region remains below normal with the biggest chance for showers coming inland during the afternoon and evening, following the normal summer pattern, forecasters said.

“Scattered showers and storms will continue to be possible each afternoon as the east coast sea breeze develops and moves inland,” forecasters said. “Greatest rain chances will continue to remain focused inland, especially near to northwest of I-4 where late day boundary collisions are favored.”

Rain chances are from 40%-50% inland and 30%-40% on the coast.

Overnight temperatures will remain in the low to mid 70s amid muggy conditions.
