Springer will lead a new five-person communications team that will feature HPD Maj. Paul Okamoto as a uniformed spokesperson. Okamoto runs HPD’s legislative liaison office.
Springer, who most recently served as a spokesperson for the Hawaii Department of Health, has more than 15 years of strategic communications experience. She has worked communications for nonprofit organizations, media, the visitor industry and public health sector, according to the release.

“Claudette brings a wealth of knowledge, and HPD looks forward to her strategic communications expertise to develop timely and relevant themes and messages internally and externally, ” said HPD Chief Arthur “Joe ” Logan, in a statement.
