An indoor pickleball cub plans to open in downtown New Rochelle in January 2026, in a Huguenot Street building that formerly housed a New York Sports Club fitness center.

PickleRage will occupy 42,000 square feet at 173 Huguenot St., the Cappelli Organization said through a spokesperson.

PickleRage is described in the news release as the nation’s premier indoor pickleball club. It will be PickleRage’s first in Westchester and in the state.

The new pickleball club space will have:

  • Fourteen regulation-size pickleball courts equipped with smart court technology, described as cameras for gameplay recording and live streaming.

  • Courts will have special flooring to help prevent injuries.

  • A player’s lounge, an observation patio, and a pro shop with retail displays, a gear fitting area, and demo equipment.

The courts will have bright overhead lighting, high-performance non-skid surfaces and temperature and humidity for ideal playing conditions, the release said.

New Rochelle great fit, ‘perfect match’ for pickleball club

David Smith, PickleRage chief operating officer, stated the city is a great fit for its historic charm, parks and recreation focus, and closeness to New York City.

“Its central location, combined with its ongoing growth and investment in recreational opportunities, makes it a perfect match for our mission to make pickleball more accessible across the country,” Smith said.

A group of pickleball enthusiasts founded PickleRage in 2023, seeing need for dedicated indoor facilities where players could enjoy the sport year-round, the release said.
