Jefferson County Public Schools will resume a normal schedule Friday, though students affected by flooded roads will not be required to attend classes in-person, district officials announced in an email to families and staff.
At least 28 bus stops remain inaccessible due to flooding Thursday afternoon, according to a list provided by JCPS.
“Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide pick-up or drop-off service at these locations on Friday,” officials said, adding parents should check the list again Friday morning for any changes.
Students who are unable to attend school due to a flooded bus stop or a road closure due to flooding will be excused from classes as long as the school is notified, JCPS officials stated. Parents were advised to use their “best judgement” when traveling to and from school.
Early childhood programs will not be in session Friday due to a previously scheduled Blue Day, officials said.
