Jun. 7—June 7, 2015 — Chris Ring, a U.S. Navy combat veteran, recently kicked off his journey of swimming the entire length of the Mississippi River starting at the headwaters in Itasca State Park. He plans to swim about 16 miles a day to help his cause of connecting families who have lost loved ones in military service.
June 7, 2000 — The Red Lake Tribal Council plans a series of reservation-wide community meetings this week to seek advice from tribal members on a $53.3 million offer from the federal government to settle remaining claims filed by Red Lake Nation. The cases involve the mismanagement of the Red Lake forest.

June 7, 1925 — Diamond Point Park officially opened for the 1925 season with a concert by the Bemidji Boys band under the direction of Bandmaster J.J. Cason and an address by Mayor J.J. Dixon. The water toboggan slide was a center of interest and the water wheel proved popular with the younger folks.
