Authorities say a 17-year-old from Lamesa was killed in a one-vehicle rollover crash Tuesday evening in Terry County.
The minor, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that was reported about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on State Highway 137 0.57 of a mile southeast of County Road 490, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Investigators believe he was driving a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup in wet conditions northwest on SH 137 when the vehicle went into a side skid toward the west barrow ditch, where it began to roll over and collided with trees. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the DPS.
Other factors contributing to the crash were not immediately known as the investigation was ongoing.
