Meteorologists are keeping a close eye on a storm that could bring large hail, flooding and damaging winds to Indiana later this week.
Scattered severe storms are possible overnight Friday, starting around 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Indianapolis. The storms follow a cold front moving southeastward that prompted a frost advisory early Wednesday.
NWS Indianapolis said it is too soon to determine if these storms will be severe, but before we get late into the week, you can expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers.
“As we get closer to the event, it’ll become clearer what the primary hazards are, where the storms will be, and whether or not the hazards need to be lowered or raised,” NWS meteorologist Matthew Eckhoff told IndyStar.
This week will be characterized by cloudy skies, with the sun peeking through before rain chances are expected to pick up toward the end of the week.
