Monroe County Community College and the Michigan State Police will host a Law Enforcement Youth Academy June 16-20.
According to a community announcement, the academy is for individuals ages 16 to 21 and aims to prepare future police officers.
This program, now in its fourth year, allows participants to experience the criminal justice system from a police recruit’s perspective. They will be mentored by Michigan State Police troopers and officers from local agencies.
Activities include physical fitness, patrol activities, first aid and CPR training, defensive tactics, and crime scene investigation.
