LEGOLAND California is building a new land, brick by brick

Must read

LEGOLAND California is growing.

The Southern California resort this week announced a new space-themed land, which will feature its “most technologically advanced attraction” yet.

“Brace yourselves for a thrilling, family-friendly roller coaster that will send you soaring through an uncharted galaxy, blasting off from the LEGOLAND SPACEPORT 886 launchpad, named in homage to one of the original LEGO® Space Buggy sets, #886,” the resort said in a press release.

Opening early next year, the indoor coaster will be LEGOLAND California’s first new coaster in over two decades.

Two other space-themed rides, an astronaut-inspired toddler play area, and new dining and retail venues will also be part of the new land being built by Fun Town.

LEGOLAND Florida will get the same coaster, as part of a new space-themed experience opening there early next year. The experience will include an immersive queue, DUPLO-themed play area and retail shop, near LEGO City.

For each of these resorts, the projects mark their largest single in-park investment to date.
