The Leon County School District received a B from the Florida Department of Education for its 2024-25 school year grade, same as last year when it was three points shy of an A. This year it was only two points off.
The school grades were collected from state assessment results and student progress and calculated by the state to provide a snapshot of the school’s overall performance.

Here’s how the schools fared:
No Fs: For the seventh consecutive year, there are no failing schools in the Leon County district.
These schools earned an A:
Sabal Palm Elementary accomplished an astonishing feat: The school jumped from a D to an A.
Ruediger Elementary rose from a C to an A.
Bucklake, Chaires, Hawks Rise, Gilchrist, Killearn Lakes and Roberts are other elementary schools score an A.
Excelling middle schools include Deerlake, Montford and Swift Creek.
These schools showed improvement:
Apalachee elementary and Fort Braden rose from a D to a C.
Riley, Springwood, and Canopy Oaks elementary schools jumped from a C to a B.

These schools received a D:
Only Oak Ridge Elementary and Griffin Middle received a D.
Charter Schools:
Both the School of Arts and Sciences Centre and its affiliate location on Thomasville Road earned an A.
Tallahassee Classical School earned a C for the fourth consecutive year.
