Apr. 25—One person was seriously injured in a fire that destroyed a Limington home on Thursday morning.
The resident was the only person in the house on Boothy Road when authorities arrived around 9:37 a.m, according to the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office. He was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland through LifeFlight, where he remains in serious condition.
No one else was injured, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the fire marshal’s office. Investigators have determined that the fire was “intentionally set.”
The home was entirely destroyed by the blaze. Moss declined to share whether the fire marshal’s office has identified any suspects because the investigation is “active and ongoing.”

We believe it’s important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It’s a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
