The Louisville Metro Police Department begin investigation after a young child died after falling, officials said in a news release.
LMPD responded to the 2900 block of Conestoga Avenue around 3:06 p.m. Sept. 2 after receiving a report that a 5-year-old boy sustained traumatic injuries due to a fall, spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.
The child was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Mitchell said.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation “due to the severity of the victim’s injuries,” Mitchell said.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the cause of death has not been released.
