Ruthmere’s teas to celebrate ‘Downton Abbey’
ELKHART — Ruthmere’s Tuesday Teas will celebrate the final film of “Downton Abbey.”
The teas take place from 2-3:30 p.m. each Tuesday from Sept. 2-Oct. 21 at Ruthmere Museum.
Guests will enjoy tea in Ruthmere’s garden, weather permitting, or in Ruthmere’s Game Room. This year, the museum is using the Tuesday Teas to celebrate the final film of “Downton Abbey.” “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” releases on Sept. 12, and anyone who brings their ticket stub to a Tuesday Tea will receive a free souvenir, a “Downton Abbey” magnet. Guests are also encouraged (but not required) to dress up as a character or in 1920s/30s attire.
The 2025 Tuesday Teas are sponsored by Gibson Insurance.
Ruthmere’s Tuesday Teas @ 2 reflect a traditional afternoon English tea, offering finger sandwiches, scones, and selected sweets with a favorite tea. Note that if the tea is moved indoors, the Ruthmere Game Room is not ADA-accessible, but staff will make every reasonable effort to accommodate guests with mobility limitations. Call before the tea at 574-264-0330 to make arrangements.
Registration and advance payment are required and registration is only accepted up through the Saturday before each tea. Limit groups to eight or fewer people. Admission is $25 per person. Register online at Ruthmere.org.
