A Louisville man was arrested in connection to stealing an SUV with a nine-month-old baby inside.

Brandon Conley faces one count of kidnapping a minor and one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition of auto between $1,000 and $10,000.

According to an arrest slip, Louisville Metro Police officers were dispatched to the South Brook Street and East Broadway intersection on a report that a Gold Chevy Trailblazer with a nine-month-old child inside was stolen.

Officers located the parents of the child, who reportedly told police that they left the vehicle running with the child inside. When they walked far enough away, a man reportedly got into their car and drove off.

The arrest slip details that minutes after the incident, staff at Jewish Hospital reported that a man dropped off an infant in the lobby and fled the scene.

Officers located the stolen car at the West Jefferson Street and South 10th Street intersection. Conley was arrested at South 27th Street and West Muhammad Ali.

Conley is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 28 for an arraignment hearing.
