Maddison Hofstetter of Orrville represented Boys & Girls Club as nominee for top honor

The Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs, a youth advocacy organization that supports more than 100 Boys & Girls Clubs across Ohio, announced the 2025 Ohio Youth of the Year during a luncheon celebration in Columbus.

Tyreese Blue II, the Youth of the Year representing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo, was chosen as the state-level Youth of the Year.

Locally, Maddison Hofstetter of Orrville, representing the Orrville Area Boys & Girls Clubs, was one of the nominees for the Youth of the Year award.

She credits the club for helping her become more social and build relationships, according to a news release. She said the club has given her a place to belong and the courage to try new things.

Hoffstetter plans to attend the University of Akron and pursue a career in law enforcement.

Youth of the Year is the signature program of the national Boys & Girls Club movement to foster a new generation of leaders. Candidates must be between the ages of 14 and 18, be actively involved in their local Club and exhibit strong character and citizenship.
