MARTIN COUNTY — The Jensen Beach man, accused of attempted felony murder, died in the hospital on July 2, according to sheriff’s officials.
What happened: Brian Thomas Leach, 69, of Jensen Beach died in the hospital the evening of July 2, according to Martin County sheriff’s spokesperson Christine Christofek. She said even though he died in the hospital, the sheriff’s office is calling it a ‘custody death.’
An autopsy is being performed July 3, according to Christofek.
He was taken into custody on June 26 and was charged with attempted felony murder, resisting arrest with violence, and criminal mischief $1,000 or more, according to his arrest affidavit.
