Oct. 3—WILKES-BARRE — City police arrested Traquan Jerome Barrow on allegations he assaulted a man and trashed an apartment over a $40 debt for crack cocaine Thursday night, according to court records.
Barrow, 23, of Sheridan Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arraigned by District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz of Pittston on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct. Barrow was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of South Grant Street for “disorderly behavior” and encountered Barrow and another man bleeding from his head in the middle of the street just after 6 p.m.
After both men were handcuffed, police found a pellet gun and bags of suspected crack cocaine on the ground.
The bloody man told police he was called by his mother who was inside the apartment that Barrow trashed due to being owed $40 for crack cocaine, the complaint says.
When he rushed to his apartment, the complaint says, he claimed Barrow brandished a firearm before they started to fight.
Police alleged Barrow entered the apartment, threatened the man’s mother and smashed items over money owed to him.
