A Tulsa man convicted of a 2020 robbery in Ada was sentenced to 24 months in prison for one count of robbery in Indian Country, the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma said.
Wilmer Medardo Guerrero, 24, pleaded guilty in March to the charge.
Investigators from the FBI, the Ada Police Department and the District 22 Task Force stated that in December 2020, Guerrero assaulted a restaurant manager in Ada before robbing the manager of the restaurant’s deposit.
The report said that the victim fought off Guerrero, a former employee, and unmasked him before he fled with the money.
Guerrero remains in custody of the US Marshals Service and will be transported to a US Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence.
