Joshua Braden, 38, of Kentucky, died as a result of the crash, the spokesperson said.
A preliminary investigation found that a 67-year-old Huber Heights man was driving a Ford F-150 north on I-75 in the left lane.
Braden was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle behind the pickup truck at the time of the crash.
Traffic slowed due to an unknown vehicle merging onto the interstate from the right shoulder and Braden crashed into the back of the truck, according to the spokespeson.
The motorcycle traveled off the left side of the road and hit a sign.
Medics took Braden to Wilson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
