Man dies after Southwest Baltimore shooting, police say

The Baltimore Police Department upgraded an Edmondson Village shooting investigation to a homicide Monday after the victim died in a local hospital.

Officers responded at about 3:11 p.m. Monday to the 4100 block of Woodridge Road in Southwest Baltimore, where they found a vehicle crashed into the rear of a house that was on fire, police said in a news release. The victim, a 41-year-old man, was close to the vehicle and had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Though he was taken to a hospital, the man later died, police say.
