ELKHART — Police were investigating the death of a man located downtown early Sunday.
Details, including the identity of the victim and the circumstances of his death, were not immediately available.
A person flagged down an officer at 7:08 a.m. to report an unresponsive male by an alley near 419 S. Main St., the Elkhart Police Department said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated, per protocol, and is handling the investigation, the report said.
The name of the victim was being withheld pending family notification.
Investigators were asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Unit at 574-295-2825.
