Man killed in suspected DUI crash with truck driver in Riverside

A man was killed in a crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Riverside.

The collision occurred on April 10 near Washington Street and Gladstone Boulevard at around 9:35 p.m., according to the Riverside Police Department.

The suspect, a 32-year-old Norco man, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck that was pulling a horse trailer. As he made a fast left turn, he crashed into a man driving a Volkswagen sedan, police said.

The Volkswagen driver, identified only as a 46-year-old Riverside man, suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

The Chevy truck driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. Investigators said impairment and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.

No further details, including the victim’s or the suspect’s identities, were released.
