Man wanted on warrants arrested in Grand Forks

Jul. 18—GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks man who was wanted for two active warrants was arrested after fleeing from police.

According to a report from the Grand Forks Police Department, a GFPD officer was patrolling downtown Thursday afternoon, July 17, when he observed a man he recognized. The man was identified as Jeremy Suedel, 42, who had two active Grand Forks District warrants out for his arrest.

“Upon noticing the officer, Suedel fled north from this location. Multiple patrol units responded and established a perimeter, resulting in a significant police presence in the area,” the media report said. “A Grand Forks Police K9 unit was deployed to assist in locating the suspect. Officers on scene received credible information indicating that Suedel had entered an acquaintance’s residence in the 1100 block of Fifth Avenue North. Contact was made with the homeowner, who consented to a search of the residence.”

Officers found Suedel in the basement. He was taken into custody without incident.

The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident.
