Apr. 20—CELINA — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office investigated the death of a 75-year-old man Sunday, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Dispatchers received a call at 7:44 a.m. Sunday, and deputies and detectives responded. They found Lloyd Schwieterman, 75, of Depweg Road, Celina, dead from a gunshot wound.

While it appears to be a possibly self-inflicted wound, there was uncertainty, so the scene was secured, and detectives applied for and were granted search warrants from Celina Municipal Court Judge Kathryn Speeman.

The sheriff’s office requested the help of the Bureau of Criminal Identification’s crime scene unit, which responded and processed the scene. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.

The shooting remains under investigation. Also assisting on scene was the St. Henry EMS Squad.
