A 10-year-old girl who went missing from the Newport Centre Mall on June 5 has been found safe and unharmed, the New Jersey State Police said Monday.
Divine Anyanwu was located around 1 p.m. and appeared to be in good health. Investigators said they received a tip that led to them an apartment complex about 2.5 miles southwest of the shopping center. Her parents were immediately notified and responded to the complex, police said.
The girl is undergoing a medical evaluation as a precaution.
How she disappeared remains under investigation. Her family said they last saw Divine at home around 7 a.m. on June 5th. She was last seen on surveillance video leaving the mall, appearing to follow an unidentified man later that day around 7:45 p.m.
