Montgomery man killed in Monday shooting

Police in Montgomery are conducting a homicide investigation following an early Monday morning shooting.

On June 2, at about 12:30 a.m., police and fire medics went to East Sixth Street at Teague Street on a report of a person shot, said Sgt. Ernestina McGriff, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. They found Trent Harris, 45, of Montgomery, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead, she said.

The circumstances of the case remain under investigation, and no other information was immediately released. Police ask people with knowledge of the case to call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP, the Secret Witness Line at 334-625-4000 or MPD at 334-625-2831.
