A Reading man on a moped was arrested Wednesday after fleeing state police.
According to state police:
Troopers were patrolling Skyline Drive about 7:15 p.m. when they spotted two people driving mopeds erratically near the Pagoda. As they tried to conduct a traffic stop one of the mopeds, which had a fraudulent license plate, fled at an unsafe speed.
Troopers pursued the moped for a short time before the driver ditched the vehicle and ran. The suspect was stopped with a Taser and taken into custody.
State police have not released the name of the suspect, only identifying him as a 31-year-old Reading man. Troopers said he admitted fleeing because he has a suspended driver’s license and was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
He is facing multiple charges related to Wednesday’s chase, state police said.
Further information was not immediately available.
