Murder defendant in fatal Hartselle wreck released from medical care, jailed

Sep. 11—The suspect who fled from a Priceville police officer on Saturday and led a high-speed pursuit through downtown Hartselle and allegedly killed a 17-year-old when he wrecked into his vehicle was released from medical care on Thursday and booked into Morgan County Jail, according to the Hartselle Police Department.

Police said Archie Brandon Hale, 40, of Hillsboro is being held without bond and is charged with the murder of Hartselle High student Tristan Hollis. Hale and three others who were in the same vehicle as Hollis were injured and hospitalized as a result of the wreck.

Priceville Police Department is also charging Hale with attempting to elude, possession with intent to distribute, DUI, reckless endangerment and several moving violations, according to Hartselle police, and his total bonds on those charges are set at $296,000.
