Must read

The mayor of Naples, charged with drunken driving, has had a pre-trial hearing delayed now for the fourth time.

Teresa Heitmann, 61, was charged with a DUI with blood-alcohol content of greater than 0.15 in August 2024.

The defendant had chased a motorist in her Porsche to their home after an incident in a roundabout, according to an arrest report.

At the time of her arrest, her blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.169, which is more than double the legal limit of 0.08, according to an arrest report.

On Wednesday, Heitmann’s attorney, Derek Verderamo, requested Judge Deborah Cunningham delay the pre-trial hearing once again.

A pre-trial hearing was previously scheduled in March, for which she was also not present.

Verderamo had filed a waiver of appearance on behalf of Heitmann the day of her arrest, which waives her appearances from pretrial conferences.

The next date Heitmann is scheduled to appear is May 21. The hearing is scheduled to begin July 25.
