National Teachers Day Awards 2024: A Celebration of Excellence in Education held by Council for Skills and Competencies (CSC India)

Visakhapatnam, In an inspiring virtual ceremony, the Council for Skills and Competencies (CSC India) celebrated the dedication and achievements of educators at the Teachers Day Awards 2024, a national event held in honor of Teachers Day. The ceremony recognized educators who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and a relentless commitment to advancing education in India.

The prestigious event was headlined by Shri Lalmohan K. S., Director of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Chennai, as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, Shri Lalmohan spoke passionately about the critical role educators play in the holistic development of students and the broader impact they have on society. He praised the awardees for their commitment to academic excellence and their innovative approaches to education, noting that their efforts are key to building a stronger, more skilled future workforce for India.

The Council for Skills and Competencies (CSC India) has partnered with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Wadhwani Foundation, and Wadhwani Entrepreneurship Network to enhance 21st-century employment skills and entrepreneurship development. This collaboration includes initiatives with the National Internship Portal and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to offer internships, and with MSMEs for funding and project opportunities. Through these partnerships, CSC is helping to build a comprehensive educational ecosystem that prepares students for the workforce and fosters innovation.

Joining him in the celebration were esteemed industry leaders and guests of honor of honour, including Dr. Sanjay Vaid, CEO of Invocore and former director at Deloitte, Wipro, and HCL; Mr. Amol Bavadekar, Director of Consulting at Oracle; and EMV Prasad G, Director of Enterprise Architecture and Consulting at IBM. Each shared their unique perspectives on the importance of education in driving both individual and national progress. Their speeches highlighted the need for educators to embrace leadership and innovation in a time where technology and global changes are reshaping the educational landscape.

Several distinguished educators were honored across a variety of categories during the event. Throughout the ceremony, several distinguished educators were honored with awards, including Best Principal/Director Award, Excellence in Leadership and Professional Development, Best Teacher of the Year, Excellence in Research Contribution, and Innovative Curriculum Developer Award. The awardees were as below

The prestigious Honorary Fellowship for Academic Achievement presented to

· Dr. T.E. Gopala Krishna Murthy, Principal of Bapatla College of Pharmacy, who received the award for his significant contributions to pharmacy education.

· Dr. P.H.V. Sesha Talpa Sai, Dean of R&D at Malla Reddy College of Engineering and Technology, who was recognized for his pioneering research work in engineering.

· Dr. Sanjay Vaid, CEO of Invocore and former director at Deloitte, Wipro, and HCL for his significant contributions to management and leadership expertise.

A standout moment of the event was the presentation of the Outstanding Leadership Legacy Award to Dr. K.S. Narayanaswamy, Registrar of Reva University, Bangalore, for his exceptional leadership and lasting impact on the institution. Another notable award was the Lifetime Achievement Award for Academic Leadership, which was bestowed upon follow for their lifelong dedication to the field of education.

· Dr. C.V. Gopinath, Director of MITS Group of Institutions in Odisha,

· Dr. V.S.K. Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Malla Reddy University, Hyderabad, and

· Dr. Sumalatha Lingamgunta, Former Registrar of JNTU Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

In addition to individual awards, the event emphasized the importance of continuous professional development, innovation in curriculum design, and the role of research in education. The ceremony acknowledged that the path to academic excellence is built on the foundation of dedication and a willingness to push the boundaries of traditional teaching methods.
