Must read

The Girl Scouts are adding a new cookie for 2026 season.

Need another reason to look for it? The new cookie was inspired by rocky road ice cream.

Meet the Exploremores.

“These rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookies reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout,” Girl Scouts USA said on its website.

Here’s everything you know you wanted to know about the latest lineup and when cookie sales will begin.

Exploremores newest Girl Scout cookie

Exploremores is the most recent addition to the Girl Scout cookies lineup.

“These rocky road ice cream-inspired sandwich cookies — filled with the delicious flavors of chocolate, marshmallow, and toasted almond-flavored crème — reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout,” a news release said.

“From a curious kindergartener, amazed by jellyfish at the local aquarium, to a middle schooler finding the courage to go on her first overnight trip with her troop, Girl Scouts know the road to discovery starts with exploration.

Right now, Girl Scouts all over the world are exploring who they are, what they can do, and all they can become. Your purchase helps them make the world a better place — one box of cookies at a time.

2 Girl Scout cookie flavors retired at end of 2025 season

Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S’mores were retired at the end of the 2025 season.

“Never say never! We routinely reevaluate our cookie lineup to make room for new innovations. Discontinuing Toast-Yay! and Girl Scout S’mores may lead to something new and delicious,” a Girl Scout spokesperson said in January 2025.

Why do some Girl Scout cookies have different names for the same cookie?

“Each Girl Scout council contracts with one of two licensed bakers, whose recipes and ingredients may differ slightly: ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers,” Girl Scouts said on it’s website.

“That’s why some of our cookies look the same but have two different names. Whether the package says Peanut Butter Patties® or Tagalongs®, or Samoas® or Caramel deLites®, the cookies are similarly delicious.”

To find out which is available in your area, contact your local Girl Scout council.

Are any Girl Scout cookies gluten free or vegan?

Girl Scouts listed the following dietary information on its cookies:

  • Gluten free

    • Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies

  • Kosher and Halal certified

    • Every variety is kosher and Halal certified.

Where does money from Girl Scout cookie sales go?

“All proceeds from cookie sales stay local with Girl Scout councils and troops to help fund life-changing programs, experiences and learnings all year long.”

“Troops may use the money earned to fund a project that will improve their community or donate the money to a worthy cause.”

When did Girl Scouts first start selling cookies?

“Girl Scout Cookies were originally home baked by girl members with moms volunteering as technical advisers. The sale of cookies to finance troop activities began as early as 1917,” according to the Girl Scouts’ website.
