Viva Fall River and Faneek’s present Fall River Coney Island Classic

Mark your calendars for a new event happening in Fall River this summer.

Viva Fall River and Faneek’s Coney Island, 269 Rhode Island Ave., have teamed up for the Fall River Coney Island Classic.

It will be held in downtown Fall River on July 17.

There will be two contests: a solo showdown for competitive eaters, and a team challenge where five members race to finish 50 hot dogs.

Sign-ups begin May 1.

Easter egg hunt, special drinks at Pink Bean Coffee

Pink Bean Coffee, 202 Slades Ferry Ave., Somerset, is hosting an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19, from 10 to 11 a.m., weather permitting.

Guests should note that candy may contain allergens.

While you’re there, Pink Bean also has some special drinks available:

Art show coming soon to Miss Lizzie’s Coffee

Miss Lizzie’s Coffee, 242 Second St., Fall River, will be hosting an art show.

“Imperfections: The Art of Letting Go” will feature art by Rebecca Orie, and it will be on May 10, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Kids craft camp at Canned Heat Craft Beer Company

Canned Heat Craft Beer Company, 52 Ferry St., Fall River, is hosting kids craft camp for April vacation.

From April 23 to 25, they’ll be hosting two sessions daily, at noon and 1 p.m.

For $25, each class includes a hands-on craft project that kids can take home when it’s finished, all supplies provided, and a pepperoni or cheese pizza and a drink for the kids.

April 23 will be bird houses, April 24 will be decoupage jewelry boxes, and April 25 will be plant trays.

The Bearded Chicken, 1160 Grand Army of the Republic Hwy., Somerset, has announced that this week’s dessert special is blueberry bread pudding.

In a Facebook post, they wrote, “We took our grandmother’s bread pudding recipe and added fresh blueberries before and after baking!”

Good Friday seafood specials at Harvest Tap & Table

Harvest Tap & Table, 2685 Grand Army of the Republic Hwy., Swansea, is offering Good Friday seafood specials on April 18.

They’ll have a captain’s platter, baked stuffed haddock, Mozambique baked haddock, a baked scallop plate, fish and chips, a fried clam plate, and a U-Pick Two plate, where guests can choose any combo of clams, scallops, fish, or shrimp.

These dishes will be available for dine-in and take-out customers all day.

New flavor at Helger’s Ice Cream

Helger’s Ice Cream, 2490 Main Rd., Tiverton, has a new flavor: Tiver-cone Crunch.

It’s got vanilla ice cream, chocolate-covered waffle cone, peanuts, and a fudge swirl.

Find sweet bread at Lexi-Lu’s Place, while supplies last

Lexi-Lu’s Place, 1133 American Legion Hwy., Westport, has sweet bread available until Saturday, April 19, or while supplies last.
